About the role
We are looking for a Director of Finance to lead finance at The Routing Company. This role reports to the CEO and will be directly responsible for financing of the business as well as all financial operations.
- Own company-wide finance operations, including corporate finance, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial planning and financial analysis
- Participate in strategic planning and lead strategic financial projects that support growth and profitability
- Oversee the accounting operations of the company, ensuring compliance with GAAP and international financial regulations, managing bookkeeping, expense reporting, tax, compliance, and month-end close
- Perform regular financial analysis to recognize patterns in company spending and revenue, and recommend solutions for optimization and improvement
- Create financial models to help senior leaders make business decisions
- Manage the financial reporting process, including the preparation of financial statements, internal reports, and investor updates
- Lead financing, board meetings, diligence requests, and other external-facing activities. Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal margins and long-term unit economics
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information
- Create processes and tools to streamline and drive operational efficiency as the company scales
- Manage our company insurance policies and renewals
Who are you:
- 6+ years of experience in Finance, with a strong track record of financial leadership in a high-growth environment.
- 2-6 years of experience in investment banking
- 1-2 years experience at a VC backed-startup.
- Experience in a technology and/or transportation organization preferred
- Excellent communicator both verbal and written
- Meticulous attention to detail, excellent project manager, and comfortable managing simultaneous projects
- Strong interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of working cross-functionally to resolve customer issues
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and rapid-growth environment
- Self-starter with a history of taking ownership of projects and being resourceful
- Leads with empathy and transparency
