About This Position
The manufacturing team at Accion Systems, Inc. is looking for a driven, detail-oriented Assembly Technician to help produce ion engines to revolutionize the space industry. Our technicians are responsible for the in-house processing of thruster hardware and propellant supply systems, striving to reach challenging deadlines with high-quality standards.
Techs work on a range of complex material processing techniques including epoxy bonding of delicate MEMS components, inspecting, and aligning components, assembling thrusters to propellant supply tanks, and assisting with integration of test setups. Working with standard operating procedures and protocols, applicants can expect to produce hardware, flag problems in the production line, and run experimental procedures to improve yields and performance. A comprehensive training program will give new assembly technicians all the confidence required to achieve goals and learn more about a new generation of ion thrusters.
Required
3+ years of experience as a technician in a regulated environment
Inspection experience
Soldering experience
Experience with various microscopes including SEM, optical, and digital
Experienced working in a lab with general lab tools and equipment such as torque drivers, soldering stations, epoxies, personal protective equipment protocols, machining and general lab safety protocols
Preferred
5+ years of experience as a technician in a regulated environment
CNC machining experience
Micro-Assembly experience
Experience with epoxies
Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
Experience using manufacturing execution system (MES)
Electrical/High Voltage or vacuum chamber operation experience
Experience working collaboratively with a range of teams
Other Experience/Skills
Experience working in a highly detailed oriented position, following precise instructions, and taking stringent notes
Flexible with change, comfortable with chaos, and adaptable to changing priorities and circumstances
Experience with careful manipulation of small, delicate components with hand dexterity
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Willingness to learn new skills
Interested in science, technology, engineering, and aerospace (no formal degree required, but background knowledge appreciated)
