LifeCanvas Technologies is an MIT spinoff venture aiming to revolutionize the way we see and study biological systems to elevate human health. LifeCanvas offers cutting-edge technologies and end-to-end solutions that enable holistic molecular imaging of biological systems to accelerate the pace of breakthrough discoveries in science and the development of new therapeutic strategies. We are based in Cambridge, MA.


The Director of Sales and Business Development Director is primarily responsible for driving adoption of LifeCanvas technologies, facilitating deals and partnerships between LifeCanvas and other biotech and pharmaceutical companies, accelerating the growth of LifeCanvas’ CRO service division, and finding new business opportunities. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, lead generation, user consultations, support, relationship management, establishing and managing contract research, market research for early adopters and community expansion. Some travel will be expected as the Business Development Director leads efforts to educate the market through demonstrations, workshops, and seminars. You will also develop our sales strategy, identify key accounts, and scale them through business development efforts.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:

  • Work closely with the products team, scientists, and engineers to develop and manage new and existing markets, penetration strategies, and related programs
  • Develop strategic alliances and exclusive agreements while growing existing, major customer accounts
  • Build and maintain relationships with high-priority end-users and industry influencers to drive product sales
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing distributors and forge partnerships with new distributors


Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in a science discipline)
  • 5-8 years of experience driving sales individually and leading a team
  • An existing network within the pharmaceutical and biotech industries
