HR Specialist

LifeCanvas Technologies is an MIT spinoff venture aiming to revolutionize the way we see and study biological systems. LifeCanvas offers cutting-edge technologies and end-to-end solutions that enable holistic molecular imaging of biological systems to accelerate the pace of breakthrough discoveries in science and the development of new therapeutic strategies. As a fast-growing, well-funded startup with game-changing technologies, we are seeking an HR Specialist to manage and improve our day-to-day people operations. You will be responsible for overseeing HR activities, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits coordination, and compliance, while making full use of our HR systems. This role can be part-time or full-time, with flexibility depending on availability and our mutual fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain our HR platform, including seamless payroll and benefits integration
  • Oversee recruitment logistics, including job posting management, candidate screening, and coordination of technical interviews with hiring managers
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and system access
  • Support benefits administration and coordinate with external vendors
  • Maintain HR policies, compliance documentation, and employee records
  • Assist with performance review cycles, training coordination, and other HR projects

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • 1–3 years of HR or administrative experience
  • Experience with HRIS platforms
  • Basic knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR compliance
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take ownership of tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and reliable, able to handle day-to-day HR operations with minimal supervision
