Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Product Manager specializing in Data to join our dynamic and innovative team. In this role, you will play a critical role in driving the strategy, development, and delivery of our data and AI pipeline products and solutions across a deep technical stack from embedded biometric sensors through mobile and into the cloud. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, data science, machine learning and software, to define and execute the data product roadmap. Your deep understanding of data technologies, industry trends, and customer needs will be essential in shaping our data products and ensuring their successful implementation.
This is a highly technical domain and while hands-on development experience is not required, you need to be able to engage in deep technical discussions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop and drive the overall data product strategy aligned with the company's vision and goals related to Pison’s novel raw biometric data, processed data, and insights from AI pipelines leveraging our data.
Identify market opportunities, gather customer feedback, and collaborate with stakeholders to define marketing and product requirements and prioritize features.
Create and maintain a comprehensive data product roadmap that aligns with business objectives and customer needs. Define clear milestones, deliverables, and timelines. Coordinate with engineering and development teams to ensure timely and successful execution of the roadmap.
Own the end-to-end lifecycle of data products, from ideation to launch. Define product features, specifications, and user stories. Collaborate with engineering teams to translate requirements into technical specifications. Drive product development, testing, and deployment processes in an agile development environment.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across the data product portfolio. Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams to establish best practices, standards, and processes for data collection, storage, transformation, and analysis.
Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, data science, software development, marketing, and sales. Conduct regular meetings to gather feedback, address concerns, and align on priorities. Act as a liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders to ensure effective communication and understanding.
Be the agile product owner on one or multiple of our software and data engineering teams.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, industry best practices, and customer requirements. Stay updated on the latest advancements in data technologies and industry standards. Leverage this knowledge to guide product development and enhance the company's competitive advantage.
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success and impact of data products. Analyze data usage patterns, customer feedback, and business metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Make data-driven decisions to enhance product performance and customer satisfaction.
Skills/Abilities:
Strong understanding of data technologies, such as data warehousing, ETL processes, data analytics, and visualization tools.
Solid knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data privacy practices.
Proven track record of delivering complex data products on time and within budget.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, is a plus, we use Google CloudMaintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, and technical peers to support effective delivery, and manage customer and stakeholder expectations.
Deliver technical products which go beyond the artifacts, pursuing high standards of developer experience
Have a proven track record of developing and managing world-class data and software products, preferably using agile development methodologies
You are an excellent communicator and storyteller, engaging with your audience on a personal level
You are good at sorting out ambiguity.
Education/Experience:
B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Data Science, or Computer Science
Ideal would be a combined business and technical degree
5+ years of hands-on Product Management or related experience
